my ipod cannot be turned off, how will i turn it off?

You can try and reset it by pressing down the play button and the middle button together then try turning it off normally when it's reset. If that doesn't work you'll probably just have to leave it til the battery goes down and then re-charge it. I hate ipods so much - they're more trouble than they're worth. I have the same problem as you with my ipod all the time.

Leave it on and let it be. it will shut down, if this doesnt work go on apple.com

I would go with the reset method-but chances are the hard-drive is corrupted and you will need to contact Apple for their replacement policy.

Flick the lock on top on and off. Then press and hold the center button and the bottom button till it resets. Then you can turn it off.The hard drive is most likely not corrupted, chances are much better that the media file you are trying to play has a corrupt segment and it is unplayable.
