Let's share some basic SEO tips here!
These are the methods I'd tried. At first, i use lots of text with lots of keywords to trying to optimize your page for.

Then, i use my main keyword(s) in my title tag. If you want, you can use your domain name.

Last but not least, add few main keywords and write good and relevant description of page or site. Remember, don't spam your keywords and description meta tags.

For google(the engine you should be optimizing the most), meta tags don't matter. Google has stopped using metas for quite a while. The most important thing for google is the title and a good description with a decent keyword density(don't spam keywords). Also you need to get quality backlinks(one way if possible) to your site.

Try to name your pics using keywords if your building galleries or free sites. It will get you free SE image traffic and it is good for SEO. And if your good in CSS you can used it to managed your pages layout.
